Local Motorsports Team Wins Top Award at Cannonball Rally 2017!

This Fall, the GSmith Motorsports Rally Team participated, along with 38 other rally teams from around the world, in the Annual Cannonball Run. This is the second year that the GSmith Motorsports Rally Team has participated in this dynamic experience. The rally team includes St. Charles Parish natives Glen Smith and Gary Smith, Sr., owners of The Magnolia Companies of LA, LLC.

The Cannonball Run started with a dynamic unveiling of the “Because ‘Merica” Callaway Corvettes in the old Detroit Opera House. The 8 day cross country run consisted of physical endurance between the drivers and navigation team, pushing machinery throughout a 7 hour a day trial, dealing with changes of weather, driving conditions, etc.

Glen Smith, of GSmith Motorsports stated: “The friendships established, the outstanding machinery, and the incredible scenery made this a bucket list event!”

The “Because ‘Merica” corvettes were awarded the top automobile wrap in the Run. Additionally, the ‘Vettes were awarded the North America “Wrap Like A King” National Title and came in Second in the International Wrap Like A King competition.
